Easy and Efficient Case Management

Comentarios: I began using MyCase when it was relatively young. As a result it has been easy to master each new feature as it has been introduced. Tech support is responsive and helpful when needed. MyCase continues to add features based on input and suggestions from users and there seems to be a focus on staying current and relevant to demands of law office management.

Puntos a favor:

From the beginning, it was easy to use, and as it has evolved, it remains user friendly. It eliminates the need for a paper file. One of the best features is that clients have access to their case, documents, calendar, billing and to their attorney. The messaging function eliminates voice messages and most phone calls. Clients can leave questions at any time of day or night and will have a documented answer without telephone tag. Overall case management is significantly more efficient than paper files.

Puntos en contra:

The creation of Automated documents has been disappointing. The feature exists but is not as user friendly as the rest of the software. The recent integration with Dropbox is confusing as well but I suppose that may be my lack of familiarity with how it functions.

Comentarios: Very positive. While I am transitioning away from MyCase due to the file size cap, I would enthusiastically endorse the program for anyone looking for a fully featured program that has really embraced integrations with other legal-related service providers that expands the features (like Woodpecker for document automation, Case Status for communication, among others).

MyCase is fully featured, approachable, and easy to get right to work - especially if you are starting fresh and don't need to transfer files/matters over. I did transfer with (relatively) ease from Smokeball. I like that the application makes quick access to information easy (typically, its the calendar, but can be case details like confirming the courtroom number, quick access to client's contact information, etc.) I thought the layout was largely very intuitive and clean.

Puntos en contra:

The biggest issue is the file size limitation that can be uploaded to a file (capped at 1GB).Another issue that I ran into was that if I logged into MyCase on another tab or browser, I would be logged out of the first tab/browser (meaning I couldn't have two open at the same time), which was frustrating when it came to doing some data entry.

An essential tool for law office and case management

Comentarios: Outstanding. My working day is spent using MyCase all day long.

Puntos a favor:

MyCase is easy to use for the most part. For the basics in case management, it is intuitive. It is easy to learn additional functions. If you are not sure about a function or that it even exists, getting technical support is easy and usually immediately responsive and helpful. Making comments on a calendared event is an excellent and useful function. The ability to make personalized notes on an invoice is very helpful. When creating an invoice, crediting funds held in escrow is easy. Tracking possible clients in leads and making preliminary notes is a great feature that is complimented with the global search function. The ability to remind, me, my staff and event clients is terrific.

Puntos en contra:

The mobile app could have more of the functions as the desk top version. Resetting a matter and tracking the history of events of a particular case could be improved. Verifying any type of payment for a client or matter is difficult to find. A function of invoicing could be improved in regard to selecting items to be billed and reserving others; example: if I want to invoice for expenses but not fees at a given time creating an invoice is difficult.

Comentarios: I wish I had MyCase years ago. I am a solo practitioner (lawyer, secretary and chief bottle washer). This app is fantastic!

I absolutely love the Mycase app. When I create a file in MyCase the app then auto-creates a file folder on my computer saving a bunch of time. Uploading and downloading documents is a breeze. I love the time recording and time entry features. I am amazed at how much billable time I am capturing using this app. I was missing so much time in the past, I can hardly believe it.

I'm still studying the app and deciding what cons I need to talk about. There aren't many, if any at all.

Comentarios: Overall, this is the best legal practice management software you can buy. I have tried Clio, Amicus, and Rocket Matter. This software is by far the best. It has features that I love, outstanding customer service, and is somewhat reasonably priced. I use it daily and my firm could not function without this product. I love the integration with Docketwise, even though I wish it were all one program, and I love the time tracking and client management options. Also, it is user friendly and mostly customizable, which is great for a firm like mine that handles multiple practice areas. I always recommend MyCase!

Better than Clio, Amicus, and Rocket Matter! You cannot find a more versatile product. The ease of use and all the different features and functionalities. I am able to do everything I need on almost every case with one program. It saves me time and money in every case. MyCase has outstanding customer support as well. They listen to feedback and implement changes based on what client's want and need!

Would like to see several improvements. I love the time tracking feature and being able to set up case rates, but I wish I could set up multiple case rate profiles for quick and easy selection. For instance an appointed rate, retained rate, and modifiable case rate would be amazing. It would be great to enter bulk time entries for multiple dates on a single client in addition to the current options. I would like to be able to send clients case reminders and other case information without having to put in an email for portal access. I would like clients to be able to use their phone number as a portal access option, and to schedule text message reminders even when clients don't have an email. It is surprising the number of immigration and criminal defense clients that do not have or use their emails, and thus, cannot get automated case reminders. Finally, I do not love the MyCase Documents feature for creating templates, and I really don't want to pay for an integration like Woodpecker to make document automation easier. I would love to see that feature updated and become more user friendly. I will say the only software I tried that allowed for easier document drafting and automation was Amicus. I hated everything else about Amicus though, including the price, and switched to MyCase without looking back.

Comentarios: Other than the issues with email, our experience with MyCase has been a positive one. It's easy to onboard new team members and teach them the program. The price increase has been a drawback, but we've made it work. Tech support is responsive and I feel suggestions we make are not ignored.

Being able to access my cases remotely is critical, so I can work anywhere I have internet access. I also like that all team members on a case can see progress, status, and changes. Text messaging is also a big plus because it's the easiest was for clients to contact the firm and keep costs manageable.

Puntos en contra:

The outlook/mycase email interface is clunky and not very user friendly. The legacy inbox has made it worse as we now have to look in two places to find emails, so staff has been instructed to not use the new feature from within outlook. Maybe this is already possible and we just haven't explored it yet, but not linking the email chains would also be really helpful.

Comentarios: It has helped my law practice run more smoothly. I am more organized. My clients use the document and communication features. They find it is easy.

It is easy to use, and affordable. I love the mobile app it is easy to use when scheduling court dates when in person for court.

MyCase defaults the calendar to Hawaii's time for Apple and Mac users. My clients who has Apple products say that the calendar shows the wrong time for events. They have to go into the system and default the calendar to Eastern standard time.

Comentarios: MyCase has allowed us to provide more detailed information internally for each case, given our clients more interaction with their case, and communication flows well using the messaging function, payment can be easier (we use the e-check function, which is currently free with the software), and having a central system for the office makes it easier for us to work from multiple locations. There are many features we use, including the MyCase app for our firm, tasks, calendar, notes and checklists for each case, and many others. Although there are some features that need work to be useful to our firm (reporting, intake forms, and tasks, and some integrations), MyCase overall is well worth it for our small firm. MyCase is very open and eager to receive feedback from users, and incorporates updates regularly, which improves the system, and have seen my feedback implemented into the system. Customer Service in my experience is excellent, and timely. I highly recommend MyCase.

Puntos a favor:

Bank grade encryption of data and documents. Ability to give clients access to their own portal, which is very easy to use, and allows them to upload documents directly to the system with drag and drop function. Clients can message securely, have their own calendar for case related events, our firm can task clients with a checklist, and they can pay online. The Client secure access was a major reason we switched to MyCase in 2012.

Puntos en contra:

I prefer to have more robust reporting functionality as it relates to managing cases by dates, and other case data. The reporting function exists but is not developed enough to capture all the data I prefer in my case management reports. Email integration is not ideal, but I understand a major upgrade is coming soon.

Comentarios: Honestly, without MyCase it would be impossible to run my office. I don't have employees perse, I have providers that I contract with, so I am the only one keeping track of everything. That is hard enough to do , let alone being ADHD! MyCase has really helped me manage the office and clients.

I like just about every function on MyCase. I love that they continually find other integrations and functions to make part of the system. Without it, I was a huge mess!! and poor! I am still learning how to use some of the functions, but each one has made the value of MyCase increase exponentially!

Puntos en contra:

More of the alerts for the functions (ie receive message) need to be available for the phone app. I am not always at a computer and I need to get alert notifications when a message is sent to me.

Best Business Software Around -- And We've Tried Them ALL

Comentarios: Not sure who's working hard or hardly working?
Can't remember how many "preferred clients" received discounts?
Want to know how much of a loss you've taken on a case or by providing pro-bono work?
MyCase solves all of these issues and more!

- The Customer Service representatives are 100,000/10. - Access ANYWHERE on ANY device. - Continually improving EVERY aspect to maintain its prestige position as the BEST CRM available.

The only MyCase change that I have ever disliked was the background color going from dark blue to white; it is difficult for low and limited-vision persons, like myself, to see some of the fine print details. Thank goodness for zoom!

A very good product!

Comentarios: The best case managmeent software this firm has ever used! And it continues to get better and better. The MyCase desktop and most recently Outlook integrated apps are game changers for sure. However, the Outlook app only works with Exchange, not IMAP, etc.

The accounting and invoice features of MyCase are very limited for our kind of practice. I don't like the fact that email attachments are automatically sent and saved to the case file. I'd like to be able to customized the features a little more.

MyCase greatly improves productivity, case management, document management, time tracking, document access and is easy to use. It was especially helpful during the pandemic in that I was able to send new clients contracts for their electronic signature, which is date and time stamped, and integrated into the file. This is a great product and I use it all day everyday. I wish I had started using it a long time ago.

There is nothing I do not like about the product as it is customizable to my needs.

Comentarios: Mycase is exceptional. If focus is placed on smaller firms particularly the pricing when it comes to the Caribbean firms that are not able to utilise all of the functions because of restrictions, but is still billed the same price as a firm that is able to utilise all of its features then that will shoot up its rating in the eyes of the smaller Caribbean firms and more firms would utilise the product.

Comentarios: No case management system is as comprehensive as My Case. Over the years, they continue to add functions that have enhanced our ability to manage our practice efficiently. My Case has separated themselves from its competitors to be the most versatile system in the market.

The number of features that have been added since we started using My Case over 2 years ago have been game-changers. The integrated email, calendaring, and document management are outstanding.

None of the cons are deal breakers. Trust fund case management, inability to send global messages to specific practice areas, and some functions in billing are the least user friendly of the bunch.

Comentarios: Great. Love how easy it is to use and that you can get to the same place several different ways. The customer service is A+, best of any software company or really and service provider we use. Our clients also seem to really love the portal and the ease of making payments. Add Item options should be colored again for ease of use.Quickbooks has some issues syncing and causes odd results.Really needs to add a date filter in the "Create a New Invoice" page for when I am billing the prior month. Filtering by "uninvoiced balance" is insufficient because it captures charges for current month, which is not the month I am billing for.

Easy to use. Love how the clients can pay online. I love how the case and client screens are integrated.

I absolutely hate that I cannot have my legal staff assist with the billing functions without also having them see the financial condition of the firm. I have lost an employee to them seeing how much the firm brought in and them believing we did not pay them enough. They then shared this information with other staff. I have considered leaving MyCase because of this I hate it so much. I need my staff to be able to send out payment requests for a retainer or a consultation or I need them to be able to answer a client's question about how much they still owe without the firm having to disclose how much we make each month or each year. It is honestly outrageous that this has not been resolved yet.My second largest complaint is that there is not easy way to download a remove (i.e. export) a client's contact, case info, communication and documents in an easy way. We are obligated to keep our client's file for a particular duration of time and best practice is that this information be kept in two locations, in other words, it must be backed up. The reminders pop-up is also very frustrating that I cannot control the default "ignore" time. It is set at 10 minutes and that is that.

A Great Product for the Price (Without Bells and Whistles)

Comentarios: Great product which covers all the basic requirements of case management software and a price that can't be beat. I'm still using it, but looking at other options as I grow to avoid some of the more time-consuming aspects/cumbersome aspects of the software.

Cost is minimal and allowed me to get up and running with case management software immediately upon starting my law firm. It covers the basics - central place for case details, contacts, and documents; repeating task lists and deadlines; calendaring; and integration with quickbooks and email (to an extent). There is an obvious need for this type of product and I'm glad it is/was available.

Puntos en contra:

The email integration is cumbersome and essentially requires you to forward messages to MyCase and then sort them individually into the correct cases. It does recognize emails/contacts frequently used and suggests a case assignment, but you still have to go through each email one by one and affirm that suggestion to get it to import into the case. With just a small caseload, this is time-consuming and would not be manageable for large volumes of emails. The documents are stored in MyCase and accessible from wherever you are. That's nice, but not as helpful for me since it requires you to download the document onto your computer from MyCase, read it or make changes, and then re-save in MyCase if changes are made. Since I am mostly using the same computer each time, I don't want/need to re-download documents every time. To avoid, I just go to where the document is saved on my computer, but then I'm toggling between MyCase and my desktop. There is no way to work on/view documents WITHIN MyCase, which would make a huge difference. It is nice to know that documents are available just by logging in on any device, but it's not as useful for a solo with one main work computer without the ability to open the document without downloading it.

With regards to document storage, we now offer an integration with Dropbox, which will allow you to easily view and edit documents stored in Dropbox through MyCase, without the need to download and re-save - any updates will be immediately reflected in MyCase. Love the system

Comentarios: I’m very very happy with mycase.

Puntos a favor:

Client management is incredibly easy with this software. Keeps all Court dates, documents, billing, etc. I can select what I want the client to see too, which also keeps them from calling constantly as they can see what’s going on in their case. I can also do weekly billing and see who exactly is overdue. We also do weekly calendar meetings to assess any upcoming conflicts on the calendar. It is all very user friendly and pretty intuitive. This is my favorite client management software.

The mobile app. Being a litigation attorney, I am in court all the time. So using the app is my saving grace for many things, but it needs some serious updating. You can still see your calendar and still see that people are overdue (but can’t see by how much or when). It’s easy to access the clients information so you can call them if you put their number in the system, etc. However, you can’t open invoices to see the details. I’ve noticed I can’t open signed documents on my phone either (that I’ve had clients sign through mycase) I can only open unsigned ones. Inputting client court dates into the calendar from the phone is tricky too because it is easy to skip over checking the clients box or other attorneys to appear as you have to go into each individual one. Whereas on the computer this process is very easy. So there are some definitely necessary updates in the mobile app part of this.

Okay for a very small firm

The client portal feature of the software is great. (Although we got a lot of complaints about the app.)

The company rolls out updates CONSTANTLY and they don't seem to beta test any of them first! There are constantly issues. I can't even pull accurate reports, I informed the company of the issue over a year ago and they still haven't corrected it, so I can't pull accurate income or billable reports. They seem more interested in releasing "the next big thing" rather than focusing on basics and standard functionality, which is disappointing. Such as the calendar- it seems standard to be able to drag an event to a new time frame, have alerts, etc, but features on basics like that are missing. We tried to work with the developers and made the software work as long as possible, but in the end we made the decision to switch.

Comentarios: I love Mycase. I use it for everything. I use it to chat with staff, message clients, email courts, I store documents that I can attach to emails all while never leaving MyCase. It's a one stop shop.

Puntos a favor:

I love that the software is user friendly. If you can use Facebook, you can use MyCase. Older clients are always hesitant until they use it for the first time. It makes client communications (regardless of method--text, call, e-mail, message) simple to maintain and to track. My staff and I can stay on the same page about what is being communicated to clients because it's all in the case file!

Puntos en contra:

The third party integrations could use some work. MyCase doesn't allow for Zapier and so it means things are a little less automatic and requires a person to go in and do things. Some times that is a bit time consuming. They have added a number of third party integrations that are phenomenal.

Great Case Management for Legal Services Providers

Comentarios: Great customer service, always fast and helpful. Love the client portal and the ease of case management. It works really well for me providing legal services to multiple law firms and is the best for my use case after reviewing and trying about every other case management system out there. I would recommend MyCase to others based on ease of use and customer service alone. But it has so many pluses it's a no brainer for me.

Puntos a favor:

I like the unlimited storage and ease of client communication. MyCase allows me to keep everything in one place, making case management and organization a simple and effective.

Puntos en contra:

The email integration doesn't allow enough granular control to make it effective for my use. I liked the old system of forwarding emails to my case and then matching them to the matter. Hoping MyCase evolves the email integration to add more control to how it can be used.

Comentarios: Use for all billing and time keeping. Remote/on-line payments have been a great benefit for my company.

That they are constantly improving and adding to the product. Customer support has been great at answering question.

Puntos en contra:

More flexibility for types of bills that one can produce; ability to print "pre-bills" or draft bills to review before finalizing.
