Sobre ModMed
Sistema de EHR basado en la nube, específico para cada especialidad, con una enorme biblioteca de contenido médico.
I personally use Kareo which integrates quite well with it. Great support team when you need them.
The EMR and EHR connectivity with their Billing is horrible.

An EMR that puts the physician and patient first
Puntos a favor:
Specialty-specific EMR built that is easy to use and intuitive. Assists with proper ICD-10 coding and use of modifiers. Additional modules for Pathology, Practice Management/Billing, Telemedicine, and MIPS reporting are available as integrated features. A proactive and responsive company that takes provider issues and input seriously.
Puntos en contra:
The system is designed around an optimal workflow. As with any EMR, office workflows will need to be updated in order to align with the system's capabilities.

Comentarios: Overall our experience has been positive with ModMed. I think part of any new EMR is that they do so much it takes time to really incorporate it all into your practice. So on that end, I think even the things we currently like the least will improve.
Puntos a favor:
The software is a whole suite with EMR and practice Management. The two work together nicely. It allows easy scheduling of providers and linking of the visits. It helps drive the physician through their note while ensuring that they are coding their visits properly. It also helps with MIPS and other programs. They also do regular updates to improve the software, which is great.
Puntos en contra:
The things that are the least liked are the inability to really fine tune the scheduling. Even though you limit the type of appointments per location or provider, it still providers the schedulers with all options even if they are not able to use them. Also, creating the notes can be a bit cumbersome. I think some more "customization" would be helpful.

I have been a big part of the inventory process and with the videos and step by step instructions I was able to implement and teach the staff how to use.

Some features like the cosmetics need to be more customizable.

The schedule is development's redheaded stepchild
Comentarios: EMA is robust, and the PM system has come a long way in the past few years. Medical documentation is vital (EMA), and the billing portion of the PM has understandably received more attention and more advancement than the scheduling portion. Hence my title.
Puntos a favor:
Integration with Relatient for appointment confirmations
Puntos en contra:
The list is long, but here are a few highlights: -Desperately need permissions granularity by user and by appt category (preference group). -When an account is inactivated users are still able to set appts. Not ok. Inactivating an account should disable it from a scheduling perspective. -As an administrator I'm spending way too much time changing the templating daily. The templating is simplistic and clunky as far as edits to existing template. Needs a delete option of "from today's date forward" and not just "delete all" or "delete this single one". -The schedule block feature should be granular; not all users should have that permission. I also need to be able to make recurring blocks, to be able to choose the date in the block window and not have to go to that date in order to block (which if you're in a week view is a PIA), and need to be able to choose a date range. -The schedule grid was not optimally designed for a multi-provider practice that wants to "view all providers here today". Each time I go to the schedule I have to reload every doc. Would like to be able to choose a default schedule that could be user preset that would load with some sort of default button, or at the very least have the system keep the memory sticky of the way I had it loaded when I left that screen. Way too many clicks right now. -Canceling appointments requires too many clicks. -Need a drag and drop feature from one provider's schedule to another.

Overall Satisfied
Comentarios: I like that ModMed is constantly trying to update and improve the software. I also like that they take the communities feedback and ideas to integrate into a better more functional product.
Puntos a favor:
I like how the documentation flow and functionality is geared specifically for dermatology. I think it is very user friendly and easy to learn.
Puntos en contra:
I wish we were able to look at more than one schedule on the same screen, like a side by side.

Best EHR I’ve used!
Comentarios: Our entire practice runs on ModMed EHR and practice management. This is the best business move I have ever made.
Puntos a favor:
EMA (Electronic Medical Assistant) by Modernizing Medicine increased my productivity by 3-fold. That is to say, with this product I can see 3X more patients than I could without it. Charting is meticulous and fast, and visits are completed by the time the patient leaves. Frequently updated to give requested features — updates occur about every 2-6 weeks. Tech support is excellent and responsive. Requests for enhancements are responded to rapidly.
Puntos en contra:
Steep learning curve when starting makes it seem intimidating, but after a few days of use, it becomes automatic. Frequent updates sometimes introduce coding errors that need correction

We have EMA and MODMED PM , which saves us from bridging the systems. The physicians and staff have enjoyed the ease of the system. We are also happy with the continual updates. We have sent in suggestions for change over the past 2 years and many of those have been implemented. The support has been really helpful as well
Puntos en contra:
The cost of the program and additional modules is substantial.

Evaluation of Modmed EMA
Comentarios:
Helps with MIPS.
I dont think there should be a charge for users to attend a yearly conference to learn more about the system they are paying handsomely for
Puntos a favor:
It is capable of producing a comprehensive clear note. The ability to access pictures and notes is good .
Puntos en contra:
It requires technical skills that have outstripped our dedicated older workers capabilities. We have to have younger tech savvy assistants do much of the work including path logs and notes. The notes are too long and the assistants have to spend their time with i-pads in hand instead of physically helping the patients and providers. Our overhead has skyrocketed with more personnel and the increased costs to EMA. We have spent many long hours implementing and training with this system and the charges just keep coming

EMA is great, customer service is bad
Comentarios: My overall experience has been bad because I had a bad implementation of new features (PM lite) followed by enforcement of a contract that extended my end date with them even though we cancelled the PM lite. They could have just reverted to my old contract after cancelling the PM lite implementation and I would have been happy.
Puntos a favor:
user friendly emr system which saved time in clinic
Puntos en contra:
The software for EMR called EMA is good and user friendly, saves time in clinic. Implementing new features is a nightmare of discovery calls, introductory calls, unusually long timelines for deploying new services. The customer service is terrible which is surprising considering it is priced at a premium level.
Khalique
Disappointment in EMR with terrible billing capacity.
Comentarios: Have had 5 different people for our practice Revenue collection cycle over the past two years and have continued to never meet the expectations promised. The EHR part is good but Revenue cycle management is really something to not get involved. No one follows through with tasks and a new person gets assigned for accounts every 3-5 months.
Puntos a favor:
Easy software to use with templates like most EHR, I liked the ease in modifying notes and the IPAD features.
Puntos en contra:
The EMR and EHR connectivity with their Billing is horrible.

Issues with this rapidly growing company
Comentarios: I truly am happy with the back office EMR but wish I would have asked around about their PM and appointment reminder systems. These 2 areas need a lot of work and unfortunately the company is not good at client relations. I feel they are not up to the average standard for comparable products in appointment reminders and PM.
Puntos a favor:
It has a great user friendly back office EMR system.
Puntos en contra:
Their PM service is not good at all. It takes my receptionists and office manager twice the time to input a patient, schedule an appointment, move an appointment, and run routine reports than our previous software. Also, the patient reminder system ( Relatient) is awful. It does not connect in real time to the practice schedule and requires extra work to find out if a patient has cancelled an appointment. This means loss of revenue for the practice. The reminder system is also very redundant and I have had numerous patient complaints over it. The managers in this patient reminder system know there are numerous issues with it but are not allowed to do anything until ModMed approves it which can take weeks. Lastly, even if you want to get out of this portion of the contract, ModMed will not let you. You are forced to pay for it for the full 3 year opt in time even if you no longer use it.

Puntos a favor:
The software was easy to implement and fairly easy to learn. The ability to learn in the "sandbox" before going live with real patients was extremely helpful. As with all new programs, there is a learning curve, but based on comments from physicians in our area regarding their EMR programs, Modernizing Medicine was the easiest to learn and the least problematic. The support you receive is excellent. There is always someone to talk to about any problems or questions you may have.
Puntos en contra:
The main problem we have is we kept our practice management system, which required Modernizing Medicine to create a bridge that allows the demographics to transfer from one program to the other. It only takes a minute; however, when the clinic is very busy, that minute seems more like 5. As far as the vendor, I can't think of any negative.

Comentarios: I have been extremely happy with EMA in all aspects since I started using it over 1 year ago. It is a very intuitive and easy to learn system, and I went from paper charts to EMA so I did not have much electronic medical system experience. That being said, it took our group over 1 year of looking at other various dermatology systems, and Modernizing Medicine just really seemed to be the best fit for our group. The advantages that I find with EMA are numerous, but I will mention a few. First, it is cloud-based, so you do not have to set up an expensive server system or have a lot of internal IT support, which especially if you have multiple offices can get quite costly. Second, you do not have to spend weeks and weeks "setting up" the program - because it was started by a dermatologist it basically knows what most of us typically do and fills it in accordingly from the get go. However, if you do want to change things, it is a very simple thing to do, and it will revert to those changes thereafter unless you tell EMA otherwise. Third, Modernizing Medicine is very customer friendly and they are very good at continuously improving the system and making it even more user friendly. No EHR program will be perfect, but they continue to respond to everyone's comments so they can make the best system possible. There are occasional slow downs in use, but they do not happen very often or long (with the possible exception of after they have done a big updgrade). Overall, I have been very happy using EMA and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering an electronic health record system.

Comentarios: Before going to the training in Florida, I was skeptical if there could actually be a dermatology compatible EMR. Our small practice (1 doctor and 2 medical assistants) was moving locations and starting fresh after using only paper charts. The 2 medical assistants do everything from patient check in, scribing for the doctor, assisting in procedures, answering phones, check out, and billing. We needed a software that would help, not hinder, our office flow. We have been pleasantly surprised over and over again! Here is why we love EMA and the company that brings it to us. EMA has been developed and continues to be improved by people who use it. This translates into easy-to-use software that works in the real world. Our staff have different comfort levels with computers, but all of us have been able to use EMA proficiently in a short amount of time. EMA makes caring for our patients easier. EMA saves time, freeing us to do the most important thing, taking care of our patients. We often take credit when our patients say “this office is like a well-oiled machine”, even though much of our efficiency is due to EMA. When we have a question or a suggestion, the support team at Modernizing Medicine responds quickly. The suggestion process is easy and our suggestions are taken seriously. The improvements that are made are consistently an improvement. Their staff is professional, knowledgeable, and refreshingly kind. I am not someone who likes change, but when it comes to EMA, if something is changing, it means it is only getting better.

3 years of almost daily use with patients
Puntos a favor:
EASY TO LEARN, LOCATION BASED SOFTWARE MESHES EASILY WITH ICD 10, TOUCH ANATOMICAL LOCATION TO APPRAISE CODING SOFTWARE OF WHERE TO CODE FOR.
Puntos en contra:
MONTHLY COST A LITTLE HIGH, NO REDUCED COST PLAN FOR PART TIME DOCTORS, A LITTLE SLOW DOWNLOADING LARGER FILES SCANNED IN FROM PAPER NOTES

Horrible customer service
Comentarios: The company does not respond to real problems with the EHR. I have reported billing issues where incorrect modifiers are used for billing with no resolution in OVER A YEAR! The software does not run properly on the most recent version of Firefox which is a browser required to be used by the company. When using this combination repeated delays occur when entering data with endless spinning wheels popping up. I reported the problem after spending months and $$ with my contracted IT people trying to figure out the issue (including swapping out my computer). A month later the issue is still "open" and unresolved.
Puntos a favor:
It is more user friendly when working than other EHRs I have seen.
Puntos en contra:
Multiple problems including incorrect coding of modifiers, and incompatibility with more recent versions of Firefox which is the internet platform needed to run the program. Customer service is completely unresponsive when you can get a hold of them and drop issues without resolution. Requires having a full time office person available to try and deal with the company.

Comentarios: Would hurl out a window if I didn't think it would hold injure someone

Excellent specialty specific EMR
Puntos a favor:
Company is very responsive when I want to add a procedure. The will build it if on ask for it. The product is specialty specific. The documents makes sense, look like a note I would dictate instead of a bunch of meaningless data. It codes my visits and procedures flawlessly. It is iPad based and I can finish my notes at home or document a patient call at home easily.
Puntos en contra:
Although fairly intuitive it does have a learning curve. I feel this is true with any EMR.
Vanessa
Extremely User-friendly, Highly Intuitive!
Puntos a favor:
The software is well-designed across all platforms (ipad or web). Highly intuitive and highly customizable. The software learns the provider's most commonly used diagnosis codes and plans and puts them at the top for easy selection. Extremely accurate billing and coding conversion that integrates well with our Practice management system.
Puntos en contra:
Nothing really, but would like to see more functionality on the scheduler.
Eileen
Comentarios: I am part of a large single specialty dermatology group. External pressures to adopt an electronic medical record, and internal pressures such as wanting to increase our charting efficiency, lead us to consider moving beyond our paper charts. We had looked at several EMR's, but was frustrated by the inability to customize the products. A more glaring problem was that most of these programs could not have been written with dermatology diagnoses or work flow in mind. Electronic Medical Assistance by Modernizing Medicine was a breath of fresh air. From the very beginning I found the system intuitive to use. Additionally, our staff quickly learned how to use EMA. My charting speed has improved tremendously. I estimate that I am spending 1-1 1/2 hours less time charting per workday. As with any type of technology, there are glitches. I have found the customer support to be responsive. What has impressed me more about Modernizing Medicine is that there are frequent updates to the product. It seems that customer requests for innovations and additions to the software are taken very seriously.
