Acerca de Seguridad de McAfee EndPoint

Comentarios: La plataforma de McAfee Endpoint Security resuelve las siguientes necesidades que son de gran importancia para la labor que realizo en la institución en la que trabajo, ya que me ayuda a: Mitigar los riesgos de perdida de datos mediante la implementación del DLP.
El componente de Encryption a las Laptops para cifrarlas y vincularlas exclusivamente al usuario que le fue asignado dicho equipo.
La facilidad con la que puedo tener administrado todos mis dispositivos con sus nombres relacionados, sus ip, la sucursal a la que pertenece dicho equipo, así como, los usuarios que han iniciado sesión en el mismo.

Puntos a favor:

Me agradó sobremanera lo fácil de manejar y de integrar el producto con la red de servidores y las estaciones de trabajo de la organización. Así como también los productos que despliega dicha plataforma, tales como el DLP, el Encryption, el Endpoint, los cuales me permiten tener los equipos de mi organización siempre actualizados a nivel de seguridad.

Puntos en contra:

Para mi no fue difícil la integración de la aplicación de McAfee con el Active Directory. Me bastó familiarizarme con su entorno gráfico y las características que ofrece cada menú para en par de dias interactuar con dicha plataforma en lo que concierne a las tareas asignadas. Lo que menos me ha agradado hasta el momento del software ha sido, que en una ocasión tuve que retirarle el Encryption a un equipo y tuve que esperar dos dias para que el cambio surgiera efecto en el dispositivo.

Un buen producto de seguridad bastante completo y funcional que brinda una protección integral.

Comentarios: El producto implementado en mi organización protege los servidores y workstations de amenazas externas e internas minimizando los riesgos ante malware, ofrece muy buena proteccion.

Puntos a favor:

- Un producto muy completo y con muchas opciones personalizables.- Es bastante simple y con una interfaz amigable.- Informes automáticos bastante útiles.- El despliegue de la herramienta funciona muy bien ahorrándonos tiempo en las implementaciones.

Puntos en contra:

- El producto debe tener las políticas bastante trabajadas y las excepciones bien configuradas, porque de lo contrario consume demasiados recursos ralentizando los equipos.

Excelente Solucion de Endpoint

Comentarios: De las ventajas que tiene es que la solución cuanta con varios componentes que aumentan la seguridad en los endpoint como son la protección web y protección avanzada.

Puntos a favor:

Es bastante bueno, su nivel de detección y verificación de los eventos así como sus componentes como el exploit prevention, web control son muy buenas opciones.

Puntos en contra:

Es muy bueno solo que seria bueno mejorar la cantidad de agente que utiliza la solución para cada servicio y también el consumo de recursos en algunas ocasiones.

Protección garantizada

Comentarios: La compañía es conocida por brindar soluciones integrales por lo que el nombre cuenta con la confianza de una buena marca

Puntos a favor:

Brinda una protección muy confiable en todo momento, fácil utilización ya que cualquier usuario de conocimiento principiantes

Puntos en contra:

Creo que le falta un poco más de automatización para que los usuarios poco expertos no tengas problemas con la protección de sus terminales

Software de seguridad que cumple

Puntos a favor:

Lo mas importante que tiene este software es el gran almacenamiento de datos de sorfware maliciosos que contiene, por lo que no deja espacios a malware o troyanos, a la vez se va actualizando por lo que a la existencia de virus nuevos, el antivirus ya se encuentra preparado para detectarlos

Puntos en contra:

Comparado a otros antivirus ocupa muchos recursos en el inicio del sistema operativo,generando que se demore en iniciar el computador,generando mas lentitud al inicio la cual luego se soluciona.

Correcto antivirus

Comentarios: Cumple el rol para el cual fue contratado

Puntos a favor:

Es un producto facil de usar que resguarda la seguridad de las computadoras de la empresa de forma adecuada

Puntos en contra:

Hubo algunas situaciones en donde el software interpreto como que una pagina era una amenaza y no permitió ingresar al medio de comunicación oficial de la empresa

Use on my main PC & Laptop for security

Comentarios: McAfee helped me choose their software easily by providing me with a lot of detailed information and the pros to using their service. Their free trial helped me get a feel for the software & application, and I ended up purchasing their package so I could have security I needed for my computers.

Puntos a favor:

McAfee has been my main security & virus screening application on my main computer (Windows) and laptop (Apple) since I first purchased both of them. I used McAfee due to the simple user interface and the accuracy. McAfee also does rather quick screenings in the background as well, so I don’t always have to go in and manually warrant a full computer scan. I find this conviennent because it usually slips my mind to do a computer scan, especially while I am busy doing work. Having a reliable virus/security screening software like this has been incredibly important for me since I am an online worker and own an online apparel business as well, meaning I absolutely need that extra layer of security on my computers to prevent me from getting hacked, spied on, losing my information, etc. I spend a lot of time using my computers and process sales online, so I cannot afford the risk of getting a virus or having anything hacked on my computer. McAfee also has regular needed updates, so it is never outdated and never working improperly.

Puntos en contra:

I don’t have cons; I haven’t had to use their customer service yet, but I have heard mainly good things from others who had to use contact their customer service for any help.

Awesome security and device control

Comentarios: I started using it on my personal laptop and then I asked for it at my 9-5pm job. Is very easy to use, I don't fear any viruses or threats to come into my devices and we can set policies for external devices to use.

Puntos a favor:

Is easy and convenient to use. The real-time monitoring with reports helps to do fewer efforts when it comes to verifying work. The device control is very handy so you can decide what kind of devices are allowed and which ones to block.

Puntos en contra:

Sometimes the time's policy can fail on the endpoint due to communications failure but is not so often. Furthermore, that is very easy to use, it does the job it is made for.

Virus protection that acts just like a virus!

Comentarios: Having this software installed on your computer is like volunteering to constantly be interrupted. I don't need my anti-virus software to announce to me that its doing it's job every time it scans something. But it announces it anyway! That alone slows down my entire workflow. If I need to download 50 images in a row, I should be able to keep clicking to the next image to pull up the save menu while the previous image is being scanned. Instead, it whites out your whole browser screen to pop up the message "Scanning your download for viruses!" Other programs do that at the bottom of your screen.
I can't even go to another tab to read an e-mail or something while it scans, because it whites out EVERY TAB. I also don't need pop-ups advertising other products on my desktop. One of the benefits of having virus protection is you're less likely to get pop-ups. Not so with McAfee! This program also has excessive alerts, and e-mails me at least once a month with headlines that imply they're monthly summaries of the way I've the program over the month, but are actually also just ads for themselves trying to send you to their website.

I haven't gotten a virus yet, so at least it's doing the bare minimum.

Puntos en contra:

It whites out my ENTIRE BROWSER SCREEN the whole time it scans a download, to let me know that it's scanning my download. It also has pop-up ads for itself and other related services, and excessive alerts that you can't seem to shut off. It basically feels like you have a virus.

Trellix Endpoint Security is a good option.

Comentarios: I like that the program is easy to install, configure and update, and that it protects me from all kinds of computer threats. The program does not take a lot of time to adjust the functions or interfere with my work. In addition, the technical support is very attentive and resolves any questions or problems you may have. I think Trellix Endpoint Security is a good option to keep my computer safe and optimized.

As a user, what I liked best about Trellix Endpoint Security was its ease of use, performance, and integration with other platforms. Trellix Endpoint Security installs quickly and updates automatically, without affecting the operation of computers. In addition, it offers complete visibility and centralized control of the security of all devices connected to the network. Trellix Endpoint Security integrates with other Trellix solutions, such as Trellix Cloud and Trellix Analytics, to offer comprehensive protection and advanced data analytics.

Puntos en contra:

One of the disadvantages that I encountered as a user of Trellix Endpoint Security was the high consumption of system resources. Sometimes the program slowed down my computer and affected the performance of other applications. Another thing I didn't like was the user interface, which I found unintuitive and confusing. I think that Trellix Endpoint Security could improve in these aspects to offer a better experience to its customers, however, for the rest it is a super useful program that has offered me a lot of protection.

An effective antivirus product from one of the leading security companies

Comentarios: We use McAfee Endpoint Security as a primary security solution to protect our infrastructure nodes. We have also integrated it with McAfee EPolicyOrchestrator (EPO) in order to manage all the ENS nodes from a single console.

Puntos a favor:

Its ability to integrate seamlessly in all the major OS (Windows, Linux, Mac OS) and granular level of customization to suit specific needs are one of the greatest features in ENS. Also, with its additional modules, we can further enhance its capabilities to achieve maximum protection.

Puntos en contra:

It would be better if it has the feature of determining the missing critical OS updates.

A very solid antivirus solution

Comentarios: Solid protection, the company has years of experience on this industry, the price could be a problem to small to medium companies, and it is a very easy to use solution.

Puntos a favor:

It has a solid protection database, with the McAfee expertise of decades going through viruses and other menaces on internet, also, it is easy to deploy and use, the features on the client side are very easy to understand and control it.

Puntos en contra:

The price compared to the other peers is not so good, I can say that about Brazil, do not know if it is a problem on other countries. Sometimes even when you put a file or site on the whitelist, it takes some time to replicate it, even forcing us to reboot the computer to get the configuration done.

McAfee - Antivirus

Comentarios: Overall experience has been great. It's an amazing antivirus application which gives you complete satisfaction and sense of security.

The best part is that I have never faced any antivirus issue in my laptop till the time I was using this software. So, kudos to that

Puntos en contra:

First of all, I don't like the UI and then the frequent updates

Great Security Solution

Comentarios: It´s been a good experience so far. The product has been deployed and used for sometime with no roadblocks on his core functions.

Puntos a favor:

- Easy to deploy and setup for the First Time - Light resources usage on Client Machines - It gets updated frequently - Robust Virus detection engine - Easy Administration and client monitoring

Puntos en contra:

- McAfee Support is not that good. They need to improve their Technical Support Team. The response time is too high. - Could be somewhat pricey.

Trellix Endpoint Security

Comentarios: My overall experience will this software is great and I love it.

Puntos a favor:

What I liked most about this software is that you can manage all of the open threats to your devices and keep them safe beforehand something happens to them.

Puntos en contra:

What I liked least about this software is that they will send many emails once you scan one of your devices but that is also a good thing because you will know what is up with your devices at all times.

Advanced High Level Security Performance

Comentarios: Its great for what it does, overall great security but technical support could be a little better. Its more for advanced users.

Puntos a favor:

It Reduces the amount of resources and power required by a user's system

Puntos en contra:

It consumes a lot of end user memory and cpu. Technical support isn't the best either. Doesnt focus much on malware

Comentarios: We have been using McAfee Endpoint Security for years. The software is so successful for protecting your endpoints. If you use this software with McAfee ePO which is centralized security management software, you can easily configure, use and manage

McAfee Endpoint Security is one of the most important security software in our company. The software is so good in malware and virus protection. McAfee Endpoint Security not only protects against viruses and/or malwares but also has fabuluous functionality to repair infected files. Also, software has an excellent reporting capabilities.

Puntos en contra:

The software requires a lot of RAM, because of consumption of McAfee resources is so high. Computers slow down while scanning. Antiphishing capability is little bit poor.

McAfee Endpoint Security is the only security I trust with my business.

Comentarios: My overall experience is that I am protected. I see the amount of attacks my network defends on a daily basis and that is enough for me to know that McAfee is doing it's job. My network is pounded on a daily basis and the fact that not one of them has gotten through means a lot to me.

Puntos a favor:

I like how easy it is to use. I like the look of it. And the protection it provides me and my business on a daily basis. The cost is relative to the services you receive. I get a great price with two years protection.

Puntos en contra:

The program runs a little slow at times. This makes it using McAfee somewhat frustrating.

Good Deal

Comentarios: I have been using McAfee for many years and it has always worked good for me. Only once did I get a virus before I installed McAfee. I installed it, it found the virus and eradicated it.

Puntos a favor:

It works in the background and you wouldn't even know it's there. I have never had a virus since I started using it and it doesn't slow my computer down

Puntos en contra:

A popup that tells you that it did a scan once in a while might be nice, but IO do like how it runs in the background and doesn't interfere with what I'm doing. Other than that I don't have any problems with this software

Works Better than AVG

Comentarios: Overall, it has been good. However, I can't fully recommend it.

Puntos a favor:

Works as expected. No issues with false positives. The performance using this product isn't great.. but it is definitely better than using AVG.. which we tried prior to McAfee.

Puntos en contra:

While the performance is okay, I would prefer for software running in the background to not bog down a system's performance. We will contine using Mcafee until we find a better solution.

Tired of McAfee hijacking my programs

Comentarios: I avoid this program at all costs. I understand they have many partnerships and other companies probably get a kickback every time someone downloads their program with McAfee attached, but it's annoying. They send you constant messages to upgrade, the system will start 'cleaning your files' but then stop to tell you about purchasing another product from their company to actually solve the problem.

Not much...it provides a modicum of security for those that do not have any other options. It works as a basic security platform.

Puntos en contra:

I do not like how this 'free' program continues to hijack my system...it worms its way into so many programs through the free download like a parasite. Whenever we download or purchase a program, you have to be vigilant to unclick the box that says McAfee. If you already have any other security program running, it interferes with the program, causing your computer to run slow

In a world with a lot of security options, it's hard to pick just one

Comentarios: We used McAfee for two years when we decided to cancel our license. This decision was 100% because another company offered us a deal we couldn't refuse. I don't want to name the other company because I know the deal is no longer offered. Long story short, this new tools seems to make my computer run a little faster, and they claim to be just as secure. I have never suffered a major security breach at any company I have worked with, and I am glad I haven't. Who is to say whether that is coincidence or whether these tools are doing their job. At the end of the day, buying any security tool is a bit like buying a body guard. There's always going to be someone that could take that guard down with the right amount of force. You have to find the guard that makes you feel safe and helps you sleep at night. I never lost a single night's sleep with McAfee, and I have maybe lost one or two with this new company. You have to find the guard that is right for you.

Great interface. Everything about McAfee's brand and tools feels and looks professional. I can tell that they take security very seriously. I have had minimal interaction with their Support Team, and my issues were quickly resolved. Set up is extremely quick and self explanatory. Getting my team set up was done in less than a week after purchase, and McAfee has been doing it's job quietly in the background ever since. Because it's such a widely used tool, most problems can be solved with a quick Google search. Which is a huge plus for a guy like me.

I am not tech savvy enough to understand why, but I feel that McAfee slows my system down more than some of the alternatives I have used. And I am fairly tech savvy. It's really frustrating to adopt tools that are supposed to improve your safety, but it's hard to love them when they are reducing your productivity. That being said, if you are vetting these tools for a large company, I would imagine this slowdown is well worth the peace of mind McAfee can otherwise bring. I feel like scans can take longer than expected sometimes, making it difficult to find the right time of day to perform them (in the morning it can halt a teammate's productivity, but at the end of the day it could extend past closing time). I always hate to mention price as a con, especially for things that can save your millions of dollars, but McAfee is not cheap. I'll let you work out whether or not that matters for you and your business.

Excellent endpoint security

Could be more affordable or offer more features for the price. It competes with most products in the endpoint security class feature wise and is still very affordable so its not really a huge con.

It has the ability to support multiple operating systems such as Linux, Mac, Windows. Thanks to its powerful XDR (threat detection and detection analysis), it is one step ahead of its peers. It has an active structure in all current management processes thanks to machine learning, threat intelligence and extensible structure. Prevention against ransom attacks, spy and malware protection, protection and firewall, internet and web protection, active protection, e-mail protection and DLP active features.

The administration panel has a complex structure. Having too many options for installation and configuration, this makes the user tiring.

To save you from Malware Threats!

Comentarios: When talking about my experience both I and my brother and also a lot of my friends are using McAfee as the anti malware protection product for our machines. I think this helped me to keep my machine safe for the past 2 years. Our previous office lap tops also secured using this.

For the sake of the beginners, this is a system that protect devices in the cloud or in a network from security threats. In other words it is an anti malware protection product which is designed to secure windows systems. It is easy to use and the latest version is faster than the others. It is suitable for the users even who are unaware of technical processes. It is updating with the time and the newest version is always well improved than the others. It is very efficient. It can block viruses even just in few seconds. It can detect every virus and malware ad provide real time protection. Unlike the others, most of the times, the latest version of McAfee does not slow down your PC while it is booting. According to my opinion, McAfee is lesser expensive than the other related products in the market.

It is using kind of large amount of memory while scanning. Old versions occur a noticeable slow down. It is great if the efficiency can be improved.
