Ease of use, and utility. Analytics component is great as an added incentive to keep all members invested.
It is disappointing that the Actions functionality comes at an additional cost.

OnBoard Keeps me on-board!

Great Board Management Tool!
Comentarios: Having board files in one location will cut down on the amount of Trustees needing me to track things down and will serve as a secondary backup of our precious files. Customer service is astounding, especially compared to what I experienced or see available with a more expensive, similar platform I demoed, and the interface is more modern than the other platform as well. So OnBoard looks and feels great and was well received. My life has improved since adding this feature, saving hours with creating Board materials.
Puntos a favor:
This was a great cloud-based portal for full management of board materials, easy creation of Board Books, and creation of an archive in one location. This replaced a home-brewed portal that was difficult to use and clunky. Now, I can easily create and update board books instead of wasting precious time making manual, difficult updates using Adobe Pro. Great customer support.
Puntos en contra:
Some features we don't have since unfortunately they cost extra. We also have a difficult usage case that has required some workarounds but that is on us for being complicated. I hope one day they allow more than one Zoom platform to be connected to the account.
Alternativas consideradas: BoardEffect
Razones para elegir OnBoard: Our home brewed Drupal solution was hard to use and our IT Department required too many hoops to use off the company property. With OnBoard, you can log in securely through MFA at home or at work, which is much easier for Trustees to use, and OnBoard is easier to both manage and use than our home brewed product.
Razones para cambiar a OnBoard: Cost, customer support, comparison of experiences with sales reps, how the competing sales rep treated me when I said we picked OnBoard, and the look of the interface
OnBoard - excellent portal for university Board management
Comentarios: Makes it easy to manage all Board communications, creation of agenda and minutes, calendaring, document archiving, retrieval, and distribution -- all leading to enhanced Board efficiency and effectiveness.
Puntos a favor:
User-friendly; designed to please both the back-end administrator and the front-end (not necessarily tech-savvy) occasional user. Easy upload and management of documents. Comprehensive permissions functionality, from global to document-specific and meeting-specific.
Puntos en contra:
All events (dinners, retreats, etc.) must be categorized as "meetings." Meetings functionality is excellent for Board and committee meetings, but not flexible for gatherings that are not meetings.
Onboard is super helpful
Comentarios: I've had a very good experience with onboard. I've helped to integrate it into our advisory team and they love the fact that we can be more digital and print less. Our clients appreciate that we are taking on this green initiative within the company as well.
Puntos a favor:
-saves a ton of money on printing costs -can easily replace and add documents to a presentation -you can add users with different permissions to different sections of the meeting -you can save resources to the resources tab for offline use (no need to access a network drive) -great for meetings when the team is travelling
Puntos en contra:
-it is not easy to view documents within the software. Every time you upload a new document, the book re-builds so you cannot see the document until the book is done building

Thank you for taking the time to review OnBoard! I'm so glad you are happy with the software and that it's helped your team. As for the builder, that can be a bit of a blessing and a curse. It updates, so your board members will have always up-to-date information, but it can be tough for you and it always updating.
Perfect combination of functionality and price
Comentarios: This platform has allowed us to be more efficient and cut down on the frustration of sharing documents and scheduling meetings for an active and relatively large board. We have 6 board meetings a year with 6 - 8 committee meetings between each meeting. This tool helps to keep our board focused and moving forward.
Puntos a favor:
Great functionality and support for an affordable price.
Puntos en contra:
There are several upgradable options and since we are budget-conscious it sometimes feels as though it can be a nickel and diming situation. That being said, I do appreciate the ability to have the platform at a relatively reasonable price point.
Alternativas consideradas: BoardEffect, Diligent Boards y Boardable
Razones para cambiar a OnBoard: It was the perfect combination of function and price point
Intuitive software
Comentarios: Much easier to get board member approvals, signatures, communications with Onboard.
Puntos a favor:
The fact that interface/user experience was similar for mobile app and desktop was a big selling point. Mobile use is the future, and Onboard seems to have a leg up on the competition in this area.
Puntos en contra:
Managing board member terms feels a little more complicated then it should be. It would be easier to set board member terms/roles within their profile instead of keeping a separate directory for this.
Alternativas consideradas: BoardPro, BoardEffect y Boardable
Razones para cambiar a OnBoard: More features for the money, ease of use, superior mobile app
It's been great!
Comentarios: It's been great!
Puntos a favor:
Being able to assemble a Board Book and send it out in a secure manner. The minutes within the agenda is a nice feature as well.
Puntos en contra:
This isn't directly at OnBoard but my Board is a little tech challenged and they don't really seem to get it. They have received training...it's just not taking :)
Alternativas consideradas: Diligent Boards
Razones para cambiar a OnBoard: Better fit. Better value. The Onboarding and training.
OnBoard-Get On Board
Comentarios: I really love working with OnBoard. It is easy to use for the end-user and was an easy adoption for them. As an admin, I can set permissions to various employees, and they can upload documents without my intervention. I like that new features are always coming out to test/try. The company continues to grow, but I have not seen any negative effects of it.
Puntos a favor:
The features which I love about OnBoard are the e-signature and approval options. I am able to create surveys and get results much quicker as users are already used to the OnBoard portal. e-signatures were critical during COVID as we couldn't meet in person, but I needed signatures for approval of documents. I also love the customer support of my relationship manager. They are always listening on how to improve the product. Innovative is necessary in an electronic world.
Puntos en contra:
The minutes feature is a work in progress. I am sure it works fine for some organizations, just not me. I do not like the fact that the pre-form automatically creates links of documents in the meeting minutes. Starting from scratch is cumbersome as well. They have taken my comments into consideration. Perhaps there will be a third option someday.
It's just so easy!
Comentarios: I honestly love it. We use it for board and supervisory committee meetings. It's a great way to organize reports and get a lot of information out to multiple people. Our commercial team uses it for gathering loan documents. We use the resource section a lot to store important documents so people can easily find what they need without having to figure out which meeting it was a part of. OnBoard makes my job so much easier!
Puntos a favor:
What I like most is how easy it is to create an agenda and add documents. And if something needs to be swapped out last minute, it's not a problem at all. The process is so fast.
Puntos en contra:
If a PDF is created from a Goolge document, OnBoard won't accept it. Sometimes I'll put everything in the packet and click on 'Open Book' and an error pops up saying that it failed. Then I have to remove each PDF one by one until I discover which one is the problem. Sometimes that has been time consuming; however, my company is transitioning to only using Microsoft so it's been less of a problem lately.
Board Management Software
Puntos a favor:
OnBoard provides a place to organize all meetings and documents in one place, which makes it easier to find what you are looking for. It is also great during meetings to have all documents uploaded in one place and easily accessible.
Puntos en contra:
It would be nice to be alerted when members RSVP their attendance plans to meetings in OnBoard, rather than remembering to login and check attendance plans.
Best for professional use.
Comentarios: From the first sales interactions through the customer feedback meetings, I have only had excellent experiences with OnBoard. The product has performed extremely well for us, and the customer service has been excellent. The time spent creating paper packs has been significantly decreased, and it has been very helpful in meetings.
Puntos a favor:
A word document may be used to create the agenda, Zoom links can be viewed from the OnBoard, the calendar has been updated, and there is a Resource Library. friendly to users. Continuously adding new features, updates, and enhancements. Integration went smoothly.
Puntos en contra:
In comparison to other well-known board pack software, OnBoard operates a little bit differently, so customers who are accustomed to other types may require more assistance to get acclimated to it. Because they are a little too subtle, upload failure notifications can be overlooked if you are working quickly.
Board Management made EASIER
Comentarios: A few years ago, we digitized our board experience. We picked a good "starter platform" and eased our board and committees into the practical application and efficiency of being able to access their meeting and organization files online. The platform was a bit clunky but miles and miles better than the printed board books we had been using prior. Early 2019 we learned that our platform was going away and it was time to evaluate other offerings. I knew we wouldn't go back to the old way but I needed something that would meet our current needs and be flexible enough to allow us to grow into more features, find new efficiencies, measure engagement....and still come with a price tag that our Board would swallow. OnBoard fits the bill. I LOVE the easy interface for our board and our staff. I LOVE how easy it was to set up and populate. I LOVE the annotation features. I LOVE the messaging feature (to the group but more so one on one during the meeting for folks who don't like to or cant speak over the "over talkers"). I'm pleased.
Puntos a favor:
Incredibly easy user interface - even our least tech savvy staff and board members can utilize the platform effectively.
Puntos en contra:
I miss the ease of meeting minute taking that I was used to in our last platform.
Alternativas consideradas: BoardPro y Diligent Boards
Razones para elegir OnBoard: BoardMax was going away. It was clunky. My staff didn't like using it. I didn't like using it. It was time to reconsider what was on the market.

Essential Software for Board Meetings
Comentarios: I have been using OnBoard shortly after I started with this company in late 2016. I believe the software was being converted from an older, original product to the OnBoard that I currently use today. There have been many updates along the way. My favorite was the ability to use the software on either Apple or Android cell phones. We recently upgraded our package to include Global Admin with the new Analytics feature. Two years ago, we looked into a few different products to compare cost and features. In the end we decided to stay with OnBoard because the program does everything we need (and then some) for our board meetings. The cost of the software to be very competitive with others. The members of our board find it effective and very easy to use. This makes my life much easier!
Puntos a favor:
There are several things I like about the software. One of the features we like is the ability to use the software on both Apple and Android devices. If I ever need help with the software, I can easily find help through the Help Center and there are Admin Guides. When a new member joins our Board - no problem! There is a User Guide to help get them up to speed very quickly. Should there be another issue that I cannot resolve, I have found the staff at OnBoard very helpful in resolving any issue that I come across (which are very few and far between!) I also like the opportunity for additional learning via Webinars. We are updated when the offices at OnBoard will be closed or whenever there is an update on the way. The communication is above and beyond. Putting together an Agenda for a board meeting is very easy to do. I am finding the agenda import to be a big time saver. Our board enjoys the ability to make annotations during our board meetings.
Puntos en contra:
My least favorite thing about this software is the need to have a "Global Admin" upgrade in order to delete things from the portal that a previous employee had created and was no longer needed/outdated. It is unfortunate that the Messenger feature is not included in our package and this would require another upgrade. That being said, however, there are many updates to the software that do not cost extra. I don't want to give the impression that every update costs extra, because that would not be accurate. In case you are wondering - we did decide to upgrade during a year-end special to include the Global Admin product and Analytics feature which we are enjoying very much.

Thank you for taking the time to review OnBoard! I'm so glad this is making your life easier and that you decided to stick it out with us. We truly appreciate the feedback about the various packages, and I will bring that up to Management as something to consider.
OnBoard ROCKS!
Comentarios: OnBoard has been a real time and paper saver for myself, as the admin support person and for our University. We moved our Foundation Board from a SharePoint site to OnBoard a little over two years ago. Our members love that they can use any device to view meeting materials and the site itself looks very professional on a large projection screen during actual meetings. Our members really like the resources folder so they can access Board documents easily.
Puntos a favor:
The ease of use, especially when making changes to meeting agendas and materials!
Puntos en contra:
I would like to be able to leave the meeting time blank when creating a new meeting. Sometimes I may have a confirmed meeting date but not a confirmed time.
AMBA Experience with OnBoard
Comentarios: We love OnBoard! It's compatible with all the browsers we use, its mobile app is superb, and when compared to other board portals we've used, it provides more capability at a lower price. Last but certainly not least, customer support has been tremendous. Our customer service representative, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], has been with us every step of the way as we tailored OnBoard for our needs, migrated the documents we stored on our previous board portal, and prepared OnBoard for our first meeting. I can't say enough about the support we've received from [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and the rest of the OnBoard team.
Puntos a favor:
As compared to our previous board portal, OnBoard is so much easier to use, more intuitive, and is an easier collaboration tool. We just held our first board meeting using OnBoard. Its integrated conferencing capability powered by Zoom made the meeting the most efficient and effective virtual meeting yet.
Puntos en contra:
The platform needs an e-mail capability that will allow users to communicate with each other securely and with the ability to attach documents or find them within OnBoard's "resources." The current messaging capability -- akin to texting -- is good, but it lacks the flexibility of a more robust, e-mail-like communication capability.
Continous Operations Through COVID
Comentarios: The engagement of the OnBoard sales and service team has been exceptional. Their support has made the transition from our previous board meeting platform to OnBoard seamless.
Puntos a favor:
The board is able to function well virtually and depending on the packages your firm utilizes, the functionality increases. This has proven particularly important as our firm navigates operations through the COVID19 pandemic.
Puntos en contra:
As of right now, there is nothing that I dislike about the software. It is user - friendly and helps keep the board efficient in a remote work environment.
Excellent combination of value and options
Comentarios: OnBoard has streamlined my work as the Board Admin and has allowed board members access to all files they should have access to whenever they need it. Not all board members are quick to adopt the new system and this is causing a lag in the full usage for our company but this is a people issue, not a tech issue. The tech is very easy and fairly intuitive.
Puntos a favor:
OnBoard is easy to administer and easy to use. It allows me to configure the different areas as I need to and grant granular permissions. It is a great value for the non-profit business that needs to be agile with reliable access to all the items board members could need.
Puntos en contra:
The only item I wish could be better is the integration with Zoom. The feature works fine but when board members or hosts use the Zoom link inside OnBoard they lose some functionality. To get around this I have taken to posting the Zoom link for the meeting in its title and ask the board members to copy and paste the link into their browser. If they didn't want full use of all Zoom options they are welcome to use the link provided inside the portal.

Razones para cambiar a OnBoard: OnBoard was the best mix of options and price. I don't feel as though we lost any features we wanted but we saved a good deal of money going with OnBoard.
First year review
Comentarios: Very pleased with OnBoard and the feedback we have received. Blows our last provider out of the water.

Puntos en contra:

Comentarios: I've had an ideal customer experience with OnBoard! From sales to training to implementation ([SENSITIVE CONTENT] is awesome) to maintenance stage and IT needs. Improvements are continually coming. A very responsive team when it comes to questions or the occasional internet glitch. Great online resources for training, learning and best practices, in addition to live help.
Puntos a favor:
Ease of use, organization, look, security, customer service, always open to ideas and making improvements, analytics.
Puntos en contra:
Minutes builder and surveys could be improved. The ability to add custom fields to profile would be nice.

Very Satisfied!
Comentarios: I am very pleased with my overall experience. From the sales side with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] to now working with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]. They have both been tremendously helpful and most always return an email very timely. I found it very user friendly and quick to learn. The training provided has also been excellent. I would highly recommend OnBoard to anyone that may contact me.
Puntos a favor:
There are several things I like equally with this software. Record retention is very important and this allows us to have everything kept in one secured location so it's easily found and accessible for not only our organization and our board, but also our auditors. I find that creating the agenda and being able to copy agendas is much more efficient than my previous system. I especially like that I can set up the actions ahead of time (if they are known) so they are ready for voting. That has also been a great factor with increasing efficiency. I can't forget the training. I was delighted to learn my board had training available to them and I didn't have to do the take on that role. The last thing I really like are the tasks. This feature keeps me from constantly emailing reminders to board members.
Puntos en contra:
Just as I had several things I really liked, I have a few things that I don't. I hope to see these implemented in the future. It's inconvenient that I can't attach more than one action item to a specific section of the agenda. Often times our board will have a motion/action during the meeting that wasn't known ahead of time. This may not be linked to a specific section on their part of the agenda, but rather their overall report. They may not even have subsections. This has created a nuisance and has cost us valuable time. I have to create a subsection then create the action. This has created a longer process than our old way and causes the board to wait on me to add it. So having the ability to add an additional action item to a section would be ideal. I also don't like I can't sort my action items with the most recent on top. I have to either do a search and hope I'm using the right words, or I have to keep going from page to page. Lastly, when I set up the meeting as the admin, I don't get the email notification so I can accept the meeting and put it on my calendar. My work around was to download the app on my cell phone and accept it that way. It would be nice to have that feature on my desktop so the meetings go directly to my calendar when I make them visible.
One-stop-shop for coordinating and managing everything related to virtual meetings
Comentarios: Virtual meetings have become an essential matter for us, and on a daily basis we organize and participate in meetings remotely, and OnBoard has helped us organize all the affairs of remote meetings, and since using it, managing the agenda, writing minutes of meetings, as well as tracking notes and participating in tasks and reports related to them is done properly, and it is also wonderful that every It is saved and archived on the cloud in an organized manner.
Puntos a favor:
I appreciate the fact that OnBoard is an exceptional tool, skills can be picked up quickly, and virtual meetings can be started without any complications. I greatly appreciate the speed of executing orders with OnBoard, as well as the distinctive dashboard that enables us to easily set up the agenda, schedule appointments, and also set up links, as the importance of this increases the level of realism. I also like the dashboard because I can review the comments of colleagues and managers and respond to them directly. I also find that sharing tasks and compiling reports is very flexible with OnBoard, as all members can actively participate. Also great is the way OnBoard provides for taking minutes of meetings, updating them, adding notes and alerts, all of which are saved in an organized manner and we can also access them easily.
Puntos en contra:
I did not find things difficult with OnBoard, as its distinctive design and high capabilities enabled us to manage virtual meetings as required.
OnBoard at Scott Credit Union
Puntos a favor:
Our Executive Management team and Board of Directors utilize many of the features. As an administrator, my favorite feature is the ease of building the Board packets. Before OnBoard, I would have to build 100-200 page Board packets within PDF. Then, if a report would change, we would have to replace the page, save the updated file, and post it to our portal...very tedious. Now with OnBoard, an updated report is as easy as dragging and dropping. Our Board also utilizes the voting tool quite often. Previously if there was a vote or approval needed in between meetings, we would have to document it in an email. Now, the voting tool makes it much easier to track.
Puntos en contra:
I would like to see an easier way to exclude groups from certain portions of the Board packet. It takes quite a few clicks to exclude a certain group from certain sections as I have to click each member of the group individually (instead of just selecting the group). Also, the ability to add attachments to tasks would be AWESOME since many tasks relate to policy reviews and updates.
OnBoard - Revolutionising Board Meetings
Comentarios:
OnBoard has been revolutionary for those of us that manage meetings in our organisation. The system is easy to use, inituitive and when you run into an issues, there is always someone available to help you out. The developers are always open to feedback on how the user experience can be improved and will make changes if required.
OnBoard has taken the stress out of managing and preparing for Board meetings as well as addressing our organisations commitment to operating in a more sustainable manner by significantly reducing the amount of paper previously used to print out meeting packs.
Puntos a favor:
We were able to fully integrate the OnBoard portal into our meeting system to ensure an immediately positive impact to both administrators and users of the system. From an administrators perspective, the ease of use meant that setting up and preparing for meetings was straightforward but most of all, the time saved was significant mainly due to the fact that printed board packs were no longer an issue. Last minute changes to agendas and papers are not an issue, just a quick edit on the portal and everyone is updated straight way.
Puntos en contra:
Not many negatives to report other than when Board members didnt fully understand how to use the system at first, there were a lot of queries but now that they are up and running they all love it!
Onboard Review
Puntos a favor:
Easy upload and access. Easy access from Agenda to move quickly to presentation piece.
Puntos en contra:
Have to close and open packages when updates are added. Board/committee members that read and leave open their package before a meeting don't realize they haven't seen a section that was added. Inability to take minutes directly in the application. Notes moved to another PDF on the Agenda from where it was originally made. Sometimes notes disappear and came back when logging in again. Updates cause touch ID to be turned off in application. Updates lose page preference settings and also each time you re-open documents in resources. Our organization prefers "Single Page Presentation" - would be better in user settings instead of having to change view in the document. In resources must change each document. Onboard Help Files -- do they update? Have their been no updates since 2/15/18?

Comentarios:
Fantastic, rapid and reliable customer service from the team, especially Bob!
- Efficient use of time - no printing and posting packs of papers
- Less time is needed to format and release, therefore the reports are much more current than previously
- More Eco- friendly! - no more printing!
- Accessibility - can read reports on the move, via phone, tablet or laptop
Puntos a favor:
Good integration and user-friendly, similar to MS products which is good. The onboarding process went well, especially with the training for myself and our trustees who aren't very tech-savvy. I like how I can use this on my laptop, iPad and phone - all apps work very well. Main things I like: - user friendly - automation of reminders/RSVP - collation of papers into a pack and access to download (can use without internet) - timings - good indication for the team and the Chair - much more efficient use of time and focus - ability to move the agenda around and subtitles format - looks professional
Puntos en contra:
Not much really! two things for me: - integrations of MS Teams (not Zoom) - permissions for new trustees (new trustees should not have access to previous papers, or there at least should be an option) Apart from that, I love OnBoard!
Straightforward and Simple
Comentarios: We are a consultancy organisations providing governance and company secretarial solutions. OnBoard solves the problem of having to print, copy and collate packs and send by post and allows last minute changes to be made in one place for everyone with access to papers. I use OnBoard to support board and committee meetings for three different organisations, the users of all of which have been delighted with the product.
Puntos a favor:
Key functions of OnBoard, such as creating meetings, agendas and meeting packs for Directors to support their decision making, are extremely straightforward and easy to use. This takes away the difficulty and time of having to introduce change to new users, who are instantly aware and easily persuaded of the benefit of having all their important information in one place. The resources section is an ideal place for housing Directors induction materials.
Puntos en contra:
I dislike the permissions function which I have to consistently check is functioning according to requirement.
