Neos is very helpful to the attorney and staff. It helps us keep track of important dates and deadlines as well as stay up to date with the facts of the case. Thanks to many features, specifically the notes feature, we are able to efficiently communicate with our clients, providers, and counsel. I also like how smoothly it integrates with Microsoft Outlook.

While Assembly Neos offers a wide range of features and integrations that enhance productivity, one area that could use improvement is the calendar functionality. Currently, the calendar does not alert users to scheduling conflicts. For instance, if you double-book an appointment, there is no notification indicating an existing appointment at that time. Implementing a conflict alert feature would greatly enhance the usability of the calendar and prevent scheduling errors. This improvement would make an already powerful tool even more efficient and user-friendly.

Could be Amazing, but they won't stop breaking it

Comentarios: Neos has created more problems than solutions for me. Although the features are impressive, they have to work correctly to be a feature. Help articles are a bit of a joke. For example, in coding templates with advance field codes in Word, Neos has examples of if->then functions in their help files. However, even with proper coding, the if -> then function won't always work. There have been some issues with documents coded with "ALL CAPS" fields as well, which is a common thing to use in legal documents. The code sometimes gets ignored entirely when "ALL CAPS" is chosen. You can submit tickets, but never really know what the status is once it's sent to "development."

Customization options are the best part of Neos. It has potential.

Neos will slow down to unusable speeds, typically when trying to access the calendar view, but also randomly. The calendar is always problematic. After implementation of Neos, it kept altering our calendar, and some entries were deleted. That was terrifying for a legal firm. While generally I'd appreciate regular updates, if they are not fully tested, they should not be rolled out. Almost every update (other than small hotfixes) has caused numerous errors. Eventually, they will fix them, but the first week or so after any update results in error message after error message. Most recently, the error messages for "Failure to Load Data" or "Failure to Save Data" have become a nuisance. Be prepared to constantly refresh, reload, go to incognito mode, try again and still have the same issues. The document indexing between various views will show different documents (i.e. list view may show indexed items that no longer exist in the file). If you have a problem that is not a "system" problem as deemed by Neos, you will likely never hear back from "development" when your issue is escalated. I've had tickets open in excess of a year, and even with follow-up requests, no solutions. Often, technical support knows less about how to use the program than our end users.

Not a good experience

Comentarios: It is buggy, not easy to use, and it takes the joy out of my job.

The basic features work, but they are difficult to use.

Some examples: Reports that are generated are not as good as the prior version of the software. You cannot open up two tabs on a single case at a time, so you cannot toggle back and forth between pages with the same client's case without closing and reopening the different pages.You scroll within many notes and open the note you want. Then you close the note, and it puts you back to the beginning of the notes again instead of leaving you at the point where you opened the notes, so you have to waste time getting back to the original note to scan others that were entered around the same time.Calendaring is very important in our practice. The calendar feature was not working for days, and we did not receive timely assistance with the problem from the company. We had to threaten legal action for them to finally fix it. Documents have disappeared from folders and reappear in other folders inexplicably. I was on a phone call with a client this morning. I clicked on a form to go over it with the client. The form did not open and it disappeared from the directly while I was talking to the client. I could not find the document while I was on the phone with the client to discuss what I needed to discuss with the client. I had to end the call and find the document in another directory.Documents which have not been modified inexplicably change the modification date themselves making the date of the document properties no longer consistent with its generation date.

One Stop Shop

Neos is a "One Stop Shop". You literally can do anything all in one program. No more multiple programs being up at once when you are using Neos.

Puntos en contra:

The option to "add document" to existing PDF's in a clients Neos folder is great but the downside to that is having to search through tons of documents that have been added by others throughout the day. It would be nice to pull from documents that have been added to the specific clients file instead of searching through days of documents that do not apply to that particular client.

Comentarios: Great! It occasionally crashes and has difficulty syncing with SharePoint but that is easily resolved with a patch.

Totally Ignored by Lead Customer Service "Advocate"

Comentarios: Further, Needles techs initially thought the issue was our version of Outlook, and had our firm purchase new licenses for all our uses. Unfortunately, this was a pricey "solution" that did not fix the problem. What is very annoying is that Needles keeps billing us quarterly for "technical support" that is part of our agreement, but fails to fix our technical issues. Also, Needles technicians are all east-coast based. As we're in Arizona, this also presents a problem in availability of their support.

If it worked as promised, it would have been exactly what we wanted in practice management software. It has some great ideas and is supposed to interface with Outlook.

Our experience has been that the updates are not adequately tested before released to clients, and customer support is not always advised or up-to-date re the various bugs with the updates, and therefore not able to troubleshoot or fix. We have been trying to get Needles to fix the interface with Outlook that resulted from one of there updates, and causes the slowing of email, for nine months now. We have only had this software for a year. As Needles has been unable to properly diagnose and resolve this problem, they are now ignoring us.

Extremely buggy, poorly designed. A bad, infuriating experience

Comentarios: Using Needles Neos provides disappointment and frustration at every turn. It is currently in beta quality, and the workflows are unintuitive and time consuming. We provided three pages of bug reports including broken functionality, missing features, inconsistent design, and suggestions for improvement. Neos is exceptionally bad at calendaring, document management and task assignment. The Needles team was unable and unwilling to sufficiently address our concerns with Neos.

Needles Neos is a major regression from Needles 4.x., which our firm has used for over 20 years. We were misled by Needles staff as to the overall quality of Needles Neos and the ease of migration. It is extremely buggy, unintuitive, and not suitable for daily practice management. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. Unable to recommend. We have chosen to terminate our 20 year relationship and look elsewhere.

Costs have risen and the product has not improved

No progress in regard to upgrading the system. It has remained essentially unchanged for 15 years. Despite this, costs have increased, supplemental charges for things that were standard, and quarterly support payments yet I am still uncertain as to what is covered in "support" as any issue we have, we are directed to contact our IT company or are given an additional charge for assistance.

Transition from Needles to NEOS

Comentarios: Transition from Needles to NEOS…. We were very comfortable with Needles because we used the software from 2013-2021. So, when we first transitioned to NEOS we had hesitation and obstacles to work through. There were many challenges at the beginning, however with the training and support we received from the NEOS team they made it much easier to transition. We were very reluctant and wanted to go back to Needles but never gave up. NEOS staff/support were there for every question I had, every problem I needed solved, etc. They were always so kind, and patient throughout the entire process and to this day! Now, at almost 1 year later I cannot even remember what Needles was like. NEOS offers so much more than Needles and we are so pleased we stuck with it! Nikki Mayse, Paralegal

Neos uses it's customers for beta testing when implementing new functions. Bugs and issues are not resolved prior to new features being put out causing other aspects of the program to fail. This is a reoccurring issue and affects the ability to use the program for it's intended purpose.

This software is easy to use and also easy to build in to what is needed for our firm. I am amazed at how easily it has all flowed with our daily activities with our cases. It keeps each employee accountable for there work and gives our attorney the ability to relax a bit with our deadlines and statue dates.

The conversion was challenging but to Neos' credit, all of your representatives have been nothing but helpful in training us on how to fix any issues we may have.

The timer and the Notifications icons are so close together that I am always turning the Timer on when I don't want to. Also, when someone sends me a message, I get a duplicate of it in my notifications. That just doubles my work.

Comentarios: The calendar keeps the attorneys and staff in track. When needed The customer support has been great along with the questions and answer tab.

It's easy to use. Everything is categorizes. I can look up clients by telephone number. I also like the download feature and forwarding or adding to an email

The only thing I would add is a way to combine multiple clients to one case by tagging it to the Alt number
