The Easiest Time Tracking Tool I Have Ever Used

5,0 hace 4 semanas Nuevo

Comentarios: Great. The software does exactly what it needs to, we have ZERO problems with it, it is affordably priced... what's not to like?

Puntos a favor:

Harvest is just really really really easy to use. Setting it up is fast and painless, administering jobs is easy, filling out timesheets is easy. Our team had a hard time tracking time prior to Harvest, and once we started using this software it became (almost) painless overnight.

Puntos en contra:

It isn't really a "con" but Harvest is built to serve agencies who have multiple clients and bill them for work performed. We are an internal department within a company, so we had to work around some of the structural elements built into Harvest, but it was no problem. We easily adopted the platform to meet our needs.

Alternativas consideradas: monday.com

Razones para elegir Harvest: Team Gantt's interface was clunky, administering it was not intuitive and we had low acceptance / low compliance with our creative teams. Harvest is much simpler to use and now we have virtually no pushback from the teams about timesheet compliance.

Razones para cambiar a Harvest: We chose Harvest over Monday.com because Harvest was much simpler. We preferred that over a bigger more complex tool.

Efficient Time and Expense Tracking with Harvest Software

4,0 hace 3 semanas Nuevo

Comentarios: I have used Harvest software for project management and time tracking purposes. One of the key features that I found useful is the time tracking function, which allowed me to track the time spent on tasks, projects, and clients. This helped me to manage my time more efficiently and accurately bill my clients. In addition, I have also used the project management feature, which enabled me to create tasks, assign them to team members, set due dates, and track progress. This helped me to stay on top of my projects and ensure that tasks were completed on time.I have also used the invoicing feature, which allowed me to create and send invoices to clients based on the time spent on tasks. The software also provided the option to set up recurring invoices and track payment status, which made invoicing more efficient and streamlined.

Puntos a favor:

1.Time tracking: Harvest is particularly effective at tracking time for individuals and teams, providing users with detailed reports that help them manage their time more effectively.2.Project management: Harvest's project management features are powerful and user-friendly, allowing users to easily collaborate and manage tasks across multiple projects.3.Invoicing and payments: Harvest streamlines the invoicing process, making it easy to send invoices to clients and track payments.4.Integration: Harvest integrates with a wide range of other software and tools, including accounting and CRM systems, which can help businesses manage their operations more efficiently.

Puntos en contra:

1.Pricing: Harvest can be expensive for businesses that need to use multiple features or have a larger team.2.Limited customization: Some users may find that Harvest's features are too rigid and don't allow for enough customization to meet their specific needs.3.Reporting limitations: While Harvest provides detailed reports, some users may find that the reporting functionality is limited in certain areas.

I don't admin Harvest. I only enter time into Harvest. I don't like Harvest.

3,0 hace 5 años

Comentarios: I personally get no benefits from this software. I'm not a fan.

Puntos a favor:

So overall I'm not a fan. That said, documenting expenses is the best I've ever seen in Harvest. It's really well done and simple. Nice and clean, get your photos, get your monies and go. Big fan. That is where my love affair ends with this app. From an administrative point, maybe there are incredible advantages over other offerings. The world may have never experienced such a revolutionary piece of software and I, in turn, am a simpleton; stuck in a world of misunderstanding.

Puntos en contra:

If you write a app which tracks hourly time and tries to put it into buckets for easy expensing, the time-tracking app should be simple for the multitude of non-admin users. Simply put, it's cumbersome and annoying.... and I say that because someone is going to take stronger language less seriously. Forget the fact that you have to enter in time _Daily_. When I say daily, I don't mean that you click on the day, you do the thing and save. I mean that it shows you one day per page at a time. No calendar to quickly go through a week, no monthly review where you can quickly fill in gaps. One page == one day. You can bring stuff over from the last-entered day, but the hours aren't filled in... just the buckets. This leads to an incredibly slow, painful, and frankly uninteresting experience. For a bunch of users who want to do their job instead of fiddling around with tracking how long they've done their job, asking them to use Harvest is basically asking them to make none of their time billable unless threatened with homelessness. It's incredibly painful to use. To be sure, I'm not a fan of time-tracking apps anyway. I akin them to asking your employees to lie to you and giving them a form in which to do it... but Harvest makes the fun of lying to your employer the low-light of your day. It's not fair.

Harvest is a Freelancer's more affordable time-tracking and invoicing option

5,0 hace 7 meses

Comentarios: Harvest has been a game changer for me. When I started my business I was easily able to track hours, expenses, and bill clients without paying outrageous fees for software that had more than I actually needed (and was challenging to learn).

Puntos a favor:

The best part about this software--the price. There is a free option for new freelancers, and for my first year, I strictly used that. Even the free version is highly robust. However, I quickly realized I needed something a bit more custom, and I've upgraded to the paid version, but even that is very reasonable.

Puntos en contra:

I don't really like that you can't send contracts. I feel like if the program includes estimates, it should also have a contract-sending option. I understand it integrates with other contract platforms, but those were so very expensive-—or just didn't appeal to me.

Alternativas consideradas: PayPal Invoicing, Wave Accounting y Toggl Track

Razones para cambiar a Harvest: It was affordable and easy to use, and I never heard any customer complaints! It met all my needs.

Harvest is a great option to consider!

5,0 hace 2 meses

Comentarios: It would be considered a runner-up to utilizing Clockify, I love the visual aspects and ease of use.

Puntos a favor:

I think what I liked most was how the team lead was able to oversee my time tracking so that when it came time to report my hours I didn't have to be part of that process which I believe supported productivity.

Puntos en contra:

The platform seemed to glitch a bit, where time wouldn't start or stop tracking or would duplicate.

Alternativas consideradas: QuickBooks Time, Clockify y Toggl Track

Razones para elegir Harvest: I made the switch because of a client wanted to switch, but I also didn't like the integration abilities or visuals of Toggl.

Software anterior: Toggl Track

Razones para cambiar a Harvest: My client actually chose it because she subcontracted over 50 freelancers and it was what functioned best for her needs.

Tracking Time is a Breeze

5,0 el mes pasado Nuevo

Comentarios: For our small agency, this helps us manage our time and budgets, and makes it easy to pull reports, run detailed invoices, etc. We've been using this app since 2014 and have never had a reason to look for another.

Puntos a favor:

Harvest is extremely easy to use. It requires no special training in order to get in and get to work. It's easy to edit your entries (i.e. start one project and hop to another, add and edits notes, etc.) I appreciate that it lets me know via email if I've accidentally left my timer running, so I can fix it. I get weekly time summary reports so I can see where my billable time has been spent. And I can run reports to see how much time overall has accrued on each project. I used to be spotty at completing timesheets, but this app makes it easy to do. Our small marketing agency does a great job now of tracking time, which has enabled us to negotiate project costs with clients more accurately.

Puntos en contra:

There is nothing that is difficult to use.

Good all in one time tracker

5,0 el mes pasado Nuevo

Comentarios: Overall it is a really good software, would highly recommend for businesses small or large.

Puntos a favor:

I like how employees can track time based off of categories, so it is clear during week-end review where all their time has been allocated. Categories can be broken down by department and project, so billable hours are also clear. Time sheets and project-based hours can easily be exported which makes payroll very seamless. I also like the expense tracker feature as well.

Puntos en contra:

It is a bit tricky to get used to at first, employees also agree that navigating Harvest as a new user can be a bit overwhelming. I wish there were also more integrations with expense tracking, so accountants can directly receive the expenses for their upcoming payroll. I also wish time off had more integrations, because integrating our HR software to time off tracking would make it more consistent with our records and eliminate the need to check both applications.

Time tracking that fits perfectly with Asana

4,0 el mes pasado Nuevo

Comentarios: The fact that it is only in English made the learning progress a little less fluid. I think the UX leaves room for improvement, already. But I find it useful and we use it steadily.

Puntos a favor:

The integration with Asana saves us much time: Harvest recognises the project, task type and name of the task and introduces them on the tracking for you.

Puntos en contra:

I’m using Mac and this doesn’t work on Safari (it does in Chrome, however).

Alternativas consideradas: Toggl Track

Razones para cambiar a Harvest: For the Asana integration.

Easily track and submit your timesheets

5,0 el mes pasado Nuevo

Puntos a favor:

I've been using Harvest to track my weekly time spent on client work and admin work. The tool is quite easy to use on either desktop or mobile. Harvest also provides you with reports that you can look at by the day, week, or month to see where you spent your time the most.

Puntos en contra:

The tool is limited if you want to integrate it with other accounting or project management software. Harvest also lacks some important features like sending invoices to clients or having the ability to send out contracts.

Truly the best time tracker/invoice management solution I've ever used

5,0 hace 3 años

Comentarios: I use Harvest to track hours on projects and invoice for time spent. I've also used the estimating tool with great success. I also accept online payments through Harvest and Stripe.

Puntos a favor:

Number 1: great value for the money. So much capability in one product, for a very low monthly fee. Number 2: They are constantly adding new features, but not half-baked ones. I get the impression the the product and engineering teams are very good at what they do.

Puntos en contra:

Could use more customizing of expenses and taxes - I'd like to be able to add fees to invoices that are not taxes - like markups for Stripe fees.

Wanting for More Features

4,0 hace 2 años

Comentarios: Overall, Harvest does what it needs to do for our company - provide a place to track time worked, on an array of different projects, and report that time worked to upper management. But I think Harvest could certainly add some features to their interface that would increase user productivity, and help guide employees through their work weeks, with an eye on time management.

Puntos a favor:

Harvest certainly offers a very user-friendly interface. When you log on, it's immediately apparent how to use the software for the basic need of time tracking. The interface is set up to reflect the current week, with the days of the week displayed left to right, and the time you've tracked for each day displayed below it. Each day is broken up into time tracked according to a specific project. If using Harvest in the way our company does, you can create project codes to reflect different projects, so you'll be able to track how long you or your employees are spending on individual projects, or even separate types of tasks within that project.

Puntos en contra:

I do wish there was a a sort of "Week So Far" tracker feature, that appeared as its own tab in the top menu bar, or perhaps was totaled at the bottom of the screen on the current day's time sheet. At the moment, if you'd like to see the hours you've spent on different projects summed up so far in a given week, you would have to either click into each day, and add up the hour totals yourself, or you go to the "Reports" tab, then click on "Team," then click on your own name under that, where then you would be able to see the total number of hours you've spent on different projects that week. This seems like a simple feature that should be more accessible, or at least more clear to navigate to.

Time and expense tracking and billing

5,0 hace 5 años

Comentarios: I used Harvest stand-alone when I started my business. A few years ago I took my accounting online with Xero so I explored many of the time-tracking apps that integrate with it. After less than a year, and countless other apps, I returned to Harvest because I've found nothing easier. I create invoice drafts in Harvest and copy them to Xero for final billing. It's simple, fast, goes deeper if you need it, and is reasonably priced.

Puntos a favor:

Harvest fits my business model. I'm a consultant who also does installs, repairs, and remote support. It's simple to set up Harvest with your client list, hourly rates, products and services. Once set up, tracking time and expenses is even simpler! They have a web interface and a mobile app. The mobile app duplicates most of the web features and is very handy when on-site - a couple taps selects the client and starts the clock. Creating invoices is a matter of running an Uninvoiced report, clicking the customer you want to invoice, and editing the items, descriptions, prices and tax rates. Then save the invoice and either email it directly to the recipient or save as PDF to print or attach later. Harvest can connect to Trello, Quickbooks, Xero, Stripe, PayPal, and about 80 other online applications, and has a programming API if you are so inclined. It only took me an evening to write a script to insert all my Harvest-tracked time into my CRM app's notes.

Puntos en contra:

Everything is tracked as a project. To enter time, you first have to create a project to track it. Even if you are doing a one-off visit, you cannot track that hour or two until you have created a new project for that customer. It would be helpful to be able to log billable time directly to a customer.

Harvest

4,0 hace 2 años

Comentarios: One of the best tool to track my time on any task or project. The biggest feature is you can track it from your laptop, desktop or mobile, Very easy to manage and dashboard is well layered for easy access the different features. Invoicing is a very powerful feature you can always track and engage with your customer.

Puntos a favor:

Reporting is a big asset especially virtually. you can easily assign task to individual developer or to the whole team. Track them what is going on and allocate and manage the budget. It is intelligent enough to suggest what part of your project is infected or going strong and you can make your decision accordingly.

Puntos en contra:

Not very easy to work on it initially but once you are familiar with it then it is going along very nicely. There is need of improvement in there mobile app and also costing is bit tricky as rate change is not very helpful. Moreover for user or developer it is hard to catch his time sheet as summary is not very helpful.

Good for time tracking purposes

5,0 hace 3 años

Comentarios: Overall I found the software very straightforward and easily navigable - was able to use it for its intended purpose, and found that it made time tracking a lot more efficient and simple.

Puntos a favor:

I used Harvest mainly for time tracking purposes at a past place of employment, and found the interface to be very easy to navigate. We were easily able to integrate corresponding tasks to the specified amount of time (ours was tracked on a minute by minute basis, so 0.7, 0.22, 0.59 etc). I also found it extremely handy to be able to have a stopwatch feature to track time when there are longer tasks (such as a meeting or a project that will take several hours in one stretch).

Puntos en contra:

As mentioned above, though I found the stopwatch feature to be very efficient, it's not extremely practical for any role where you're touching multiple different projects at any given time (ex. an account or project manager). For a designer, this feature would be perfect. It would be interesting to see whether the same concept COULD be applied to a project management type job. Additionally, I found that it is extremely easy to forget to actually STOP the stopwatch feature, so more often than not I found myself with a task that ran over 500 minutes long because I forgot to manually adjust the feature. It may be helpful to implement some sort of feature that has a pop-up effect after 30mins or an hour, asking the user if they're still working on the specific task (like they do with some movie streaming services).

Best Time-Tracker Out There

5,0 hace 3 años

Comentarios: Overall, I am greatly satisfied with Harvest. It gets the task done and is also helpful in making the team more efficient. Tracking our time was effortless.

Puntos a favor:

Harvest is straightforward and easy to use. First-time users find it easy to learn navigating the platform. It can also be seamlessly integrated to project management programs such as ClickUp. It also has a built-in Invoicing feature for bout hours and expenses. Another awesome feature is being able to set budgets for every project, so you can have a quick overview of how much you have spent and can still spend on a project.

Puntos en contra:

What I liked the least about Harvest is that once a person or a project has logged hours, the only option you have is to archive them, and not delete them. It seems to just clutter the workspace. One improvement that can be done is having a prompt whenever the tracker has been on for more than 5 hours, just to check if the timer has been left on, because sometimes we still forget to turn off the tracker.

Harvest - perfect for time tracking on a project by project basis

4,0 hace 2 años

Comentarios: Overall the experience with Harvest has been mediocre. It is a great way to track time, report hours to clients and bill appropriately. There are almost too many options making it a little difficult to first getting things set up. It is a pain to use if you have little random projects that come up frequently because they then have to be separately added to Harvest as their own job by the project manager.

Puntos a favor:

Harvest is perfect for tracking time, especially on a project by project basis. It is great for marketing agencies that work under retainer and have to report time spent on specific projects. It is pretty simple to track hours and view hours tracked by teammates and be able to report directly to the client. It is an easy way for managers to track other employees. The invoice feature is great if you use it.

Puntos en contra:

It almost has TOO many features. Ease of use is great for employees who are simply logging hours, but is very complex and sometimes difficult for the project managers to keep up with. It would be nice if others could add projects (and possibly have to have manager approval) and not have to be added solely by the project managers. It would also be nice to have more of a warning prior to renewing membership. In my instance, we no longer needed to utilize the software, but randomly received a charge on our credit card without prior notification that the program was up for renewal.

Best for Simple Bookkeeping and Time Tracking

4,0 hace 4 años

Comentarios: I literally couldn't run my business without Harvest. It makes bookkeeping so easy, even in two currencies.

Puntos a favor:

Harvest is affordable, and easy to use. As a freelancer, I find it fantastically simple to track time and expenses, bill, follow up on invoices and receive payment. Harvest integrates with Stripe and PayPal, so clients can pay online easily. I literally run my business on this software, and it's so intuitive. Best of all, as an American living in Canada with clients in both countries, I can bill and accept payments in both USD and CAD. Harvest is one of the few solutions that lets me do that in a single account.

Puntos en contra:

I wish there were more reports. It would AMAZING if Harvest offered P&L reports for simple businesses like mine, but it doesn't. Really, improved ability to produce any reports my accountant can use at tax time would be fabulous. Unfortunately, you have to tie into overpriced Quickbooks or another accounting package to do this. For simple freelancers like me, this just seems silly. I'm hoping the reporting features improve, since Harvest gets better every year overall.

The best time tracking software out there

5,0 hace 5 años

Comentarios: With Harvest we track more hours than we did with other software. It takes the hassle out of the process. Nobody likes to track his of her hours in complicated and time consuming ways and Harvest solves that problem!

Puntos a favor:

It does what it does and it does it best! Time tracking on projects has never been so easy for our organisation. We have used multiple time trackers, but were never pleased with the wat we neede to register the hours we make for our clients. The mac, windows and iOS/Android apps work great. New projects are available instantly and starting / pausing the time tracker is wonderfully done. Managing the projects, budgets and tasks is really easy and if you like, you can integrate it with Harvest Forecast and plan your team ahead.

Puntos en contra:

Harvest lacks decent support of monthly retainer 'projects'. It's not a show stopper for us, but it makes us do manual checks of the hours we make for our clients. I would love Harvest Forecast to be part of Harvest by default instead of the invoicing functionalities, since we use other software for that.

We LOVE Harvest

5,0 hace 5 años

Puntos a favor:

Harvest is incredibly easy to use, and doesn't try to be more than it is. It is perfect for tracking time (the iPhone app is great, too, as it allows you to start and stop time on the go) and expenses, and conducting billing. It also has a surprisingly great reporting section, which is helpful for understanding your own productivity and opportunities. Harvest is also wonderfully customizable to fit your office's individual needs.

Puntos en contra:

This is so nitpicky, but that is because Harvest is so great, and has so little to improve upon: I wish there were multiple pre-set messages you can send. The current system allows for a thank you message and a "balance due" message. Our office, like many law firms, I imagine, has two balance due messages: money due for work performed, and money due to maintain a required trust deposit. Currently we have to manually change this. Not at all a deal breaker, but it would be a very welcome update in the future.

The only invoicing tool I'd consider

5,0 hace 5 años

Comentarios: It made visualising our project budgets and margins dramatically easier, so we know where our time and money are going.

Puntos a favor:

I've used Harvest for years and I can't imagine switching to another tool. It's by far the easiest, best tool for agencies who work on multiple projects with multiple budgets. Being able to visualise your margins and where your team is spending their time is an absolute game changer. The invoices are attractive and always send reliable. The integrated payment options are intuitive and simple.

Puntos en contra:

It's a bit more expensive than other tools but if you're using its full functionality it's absolutely worth it. I'd like to see more flexibility around budgeting and retainers. It has definitely gotten better with new support for fixed-fee budgets, but I would really like to see recurring retainers handled better. We currently create a new project every month for our clients on retainer, which works but is a little tedious.

Manage your work flow within your time

5,0 hace 2 años

Comentarios: I have found it super easy to use. The data record of reminders is all safe. The pricing is handy by two methods i.e. by its free or subscription deals. I am so comfortable after using it on our phones because it just needs a few clicks plus we can also make expenses through mobile app. Overall, we found it very useful as it is easy to use for every kind of business so we will recommend it you as well. Both the client and team would be saved from extra expenses due to tracker system. We found this platform, a strengthening tool for professionals.

Puntos a favor:

It is a time tracking software which was combined with Twitter to facilitate its users to track time with their tweets as well. Today it is globally used in many meetings and business by many clients for work procedures. We have found it easy to handle despite the working platform.

Puntos en contra:

I found that there was lack of connection between the website and app. It was pretty difficult to constantly have a check on the app. We found this the app did not function properly for tasks assignment to the workers. Moreover it is going well and giving great performance.

Seemingly All-in-One Platform... But I still switched

3,0 hace 4 meses

Comentarios: A great platform for folks with 1-2 projects they'd like to track time for. I even used it to track how much time I was spending on homework one semester! If you're a sole-proprietor with lots of ongoing projects for different companies, know you will need to majorly upgrade.

Puntos a favor:

I used Harvest for two years when I became a contractor for a tech company. It has many of the features that make it easy to track time, invoice on that time and keep projects separate. My absolute favorite feature they had is the time-tracking extension so you could see your time and pause it easily. As I was starting to consider other software, they did add integration with Asana which was super handy, although not very intuitive.

Puntos en contra:

What made me end up switching platforms is I began working a lot of contract gigs and there were limits on how many projects I could have without having to upgrade to a new plan. I also found their website complicated to navigate. Great features -- tricky to find and use.
