¿Qué es GLPi?
GLPi es un software de fuente abierta de gestión de servicios de tecnología de la información (information technology service management, ITSM) y un centro de atención que le permite a tu organización mejorar tu infraestructura de TI, optimizar la productividad de tu personal y reducir costos.
GLPi presenta una interfaz basada en la web que te permite crear tu propia base de datos: asistencia multiusuario, uso de múltiples ubicaciones, gestión multilingüe, etc. Las funcionalidades principales brindan base de conocimiento, inventario (manual o automático), implementación de software, problema, incidente, solicitud, cambio, liberación y gestión de activos. Cumple con ITIL.

Why recommend to GLPI than other opensource ITSM software
Comentarios: GLPI is most of the powerful opensource ITSM softwares which can be available to implement both on-premise and cloud hosting. For on-premise, it is totally free of charge or zero cost. There is pricing on cloud hosting if you like to use cloud. There is no limitation for agent counts and IT technicians for IT administration which is very useful for unpaid users. As overall, GLPI is most recommended open-source software when you are searching for similar one.
Puntos a favor:
GLPI is ITSM software and I am using it in my one of the global leading steel manufacturing. It is easy to management and powerful opensource software. There are rich of features on-premise version when compared to other opensource ITSM softwares. Such as IT Asset Management and IT helpdesk management is really powerful and able to use for enterprise office. Moverover, it is also support to install plug-in by searching it marketplace for integrating. I love that.

Plug in features are need to more improve. Some of management function are need to more improve. Need to improve reporting and auditing logs

Comentarios: managed 1300 workstations and ticketing smoothly for everybody in the interprise a great asset to have

it is really a multipurpose tool, we are using with the ticketing, but also for maintaining our CMDB. IF you don't need extended features it is free.

If you want to customize the UI it is import to modify php files and understand the glpi DB structure
Comprehensive administration of IT resources, but not very friendly and dated interface

It is free, and even if you are not dealing with IT resources, you can tailor this software to use it to manage your support service. I have used it a couple of years to manage an academic research laboratory in a public University, but migrated to another solution because usability drawbacks and old-fashioned interface. Anyway, I do recommend it for people working with IT, because it is rich inbuilt-in features that makes easier to use it for the purpose he was originally designed for. On the user side, however, the software works without much problems.
