¿Qué es Test Data Automation?
La TDA (automatización de datos de prueba, por sus siglas en inglés) proporciona datos "ágiles" a la velocidad que exigen los ciclos de pruebas automatizadas y liberación rápida. La TDA integra una gama completa de sus propias utilidades de TDM (gestión de datos de prueba, por sus siglas en inglés) con los procesos existentes, creando así un enfoque unificado a pedido. La "preparación de datos de prueba" de múltiples pasos encuentra, elabora y asigna datos automáticamente a medida que se crean o ejecutan las pruebas. Un catálogo de datos de prueba hace que cada proceso sea fácilmente repetible, ya que incorpora la preparación de datos de prueba dentro de la ejecución de pruebas automatizada y los procesos de CI/CD (integración continua/distribución continua, por sus siglas en inglés).
¿Quién usa Test Data Automation?
Los equipos de operaciones preparan datos rápidamente empleando utilidades de vanguardia. Luego, los evaluadores integran los procesos reutilizables en pruebas automatizadas y los procesos de CI/CD, mientras que los datos de prueba conformes a las normas brindan tranquilidad a los DPO (oficiales de protección de datos, por sus siglas en inglés).

Integration with difficult to access mainframe resources
Comentarios: With the advent of GDPR within the EU it's imperative that we clean up our datasets and this tool which generates functionally and logically accurate data which represents no real person is ideal for this and particularly on our mainframe systems.
Puntos a favor:
We found the software extremely flexible in allowing us to set up various techniques to automate our data generation. In fact we couldn't find a use case that we couldn't manage to cover. While the access to standard data sources was great, what most impressed us was the ability to access difficult mainframe data sources such as VSAM, IMS and DB2 and we were even able to generate data into a CICS program and an MQ queue. We haven't seen that flexibility with other software.
Puntos en contra:
It was a little finicky to get up and runing in house but with excellent support, we got there !

It's very easy to integrate with almost all open source or enterprise software. Easy to start even for non-professionals in test automation.

Best of the Industry for Portion of the Price
Comentarios: The platform is great, but it does require investment to learn and maximize all the excellent features.
Puntos a favor:
The suite of tools that it belongs to is impressive in terms of the potential impact it can produce. I'm excited most by the opportunities that can be explored once the tool is in place (RPA, etc) and the vision of the team behind it.
Puntos en contra:
Compared to other commercial tools from larger companies, the support system may not be as mature comparatively as well as some basic things such as having the right paperwork and documentation for terms and conditions, etc.

Easy to use TDM Tool

Very user-friendly tool without prior knowledge of test automation

While running the CMD files, don't forget to close your configuration file. And that happened to me once in a while :( ;)
